Ritual Recovery is a drug and alcohol rehab located in Asheville, NC, about two hours from Boone. Ritual Recovery works with adults 18 and older, so college students are welcome. If you’re coming from Boone, you can stay in our supportive housing during treatment.
If you can’t step away from school or home right now, we also offer telehealth for hybrid or fully virtual care.
What Does Treatment Look Like for Boone Clients?
If you come to Ritual Recovery from Boone, your days in Asheville are structured. In our partial hospitalization program (PHP), you attend four groups a day and meet weekly with a therapist, a medical provider and typically a case manager. In the evenings, you stay in our supportive housing, with transportation to and from treatment provided.
For college students, that structure takes the place of class schedules and campus routines for a while, which can make it easier to focus on recovery.
Your treatment plan looks at how addiction affects you physically, mentally and socially, including contributors to the development of an addiction that can be psychological, environmental and genetic. As you stabilize, our dual diagnosis team re-evaluates diagnoses, so the plan changes as you do.

What Treatment Programs Are Available to Boone Clients?
Ritual Recovery in Asheville offers three levels of care, and each one starts with an assessment of your needs and recovery goals. All of our programs are outpatient, and clients coming from Boone can stay in our supportive housing during treatment.
Treatment programs available at our drug rehab center include:
Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) is our most intensive level of care. It’s a good fit if you need full-day support but not 24/7 residential care. Families get weekly updates from a clinician, and family sessions can happen in person or online.
Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) gives you therapy and support while leaving room for work, school or family. It can be a first step in treatment or a step down from a higher level of care.
Our outpatient program is the most flexible option. It works for milder substance use or for continuing care after a more intensive program.
Ritual Recovery is In-Network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Ambetter, Cigna, Aetna, and Tricare. Ritual Recovery also accepts and works with most major commercial insurance providers that offer out-of-network benefits (typically PPO plans). Specific providers often include Medcosts, Optum, UnitedHealthcare (UHC), as well as many others. Note: We do NOT accept Medicaid, Medicare, or state-funded insurance. To find out your personal options for treatment, fill out our free online insurance verification form.
