Ritual Recovery is a family-owned addiction treatment center in Asheville, founded by Dean and Sarah Patterson. We keep groups small on purpose, so every client gets real time with our clinical team, not a seat in a crowded room. Our partial hospitalization program includes supportive housing on 60+ acres just outside downtown Asheville, with intensive outpatient and telehealth step-down care when you’re ready for the next phase.

Most of our clients come from right here in Western North Carolina. Others drive in from Charlotte, Raleigh, and across the state because they want a quieter, more personal place to start recovery. We’re in-network with BCBS, Aetna, and Cigna, and we can verify your coverage today.

Ethan, the manager, was awesome. Always laid back, approachable, and willing to help with whatever came up. You could tell he genuinely cared.

The group leaders, Madi, Amanda, Tyler, Sam, and Kayla, were all great. They made groups comfortable and engaging, and the days honestly went by pretty quickly Monday through Friday. I walked away with some really useful tools to better manage my anxiety, handle cravings, and work through things in healthier ways. That’s something I’ll carry with me long after leaving.

Trever, one of the techs, was another great guy. Super cool, easy to get along with, and just an all-around good dude.

The house was a great experience too. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of guys to stay with. I never felt out of place, and there was a real sense of camaraderie. We were also well taken care of when it came to food. The pantry was always stocked, and we never went without.

At the end of the day, it’s the people who make a place like this what it is, and Ritual has some genuinely good ones. I left with great memories, friendships, and tools I can actually use in everyday life. I’m grateful for my time there and would absolutely recommend Ritual Recovery to anyone looking for a supportive and welcoming place to focus on their recovery.

Ethan, the Ops Director, helped me through some tough times, and when I was showing him the worst side of me. He never wavered or blinked an eye, staying committed to me and my recovery the entire time. The housing is beautiful as well. The clinic staff was amazing. I actually saw my Counselor once a week and if I needed to see Maddie more than once a week she was available she made space for my voice and my concerns. our group sessions were very educational. We had four a day and 45 minute increments. I wanna shout out to clinician Tyler. he’s always soft-spoken and very calm. His meditations are amazing. also a shout out to Haley.  Haley has this amazing dog and the dog therapy was the best. and she’s also a clinician and some of the groups that we did with her were so funny you laughed through the whole thing but yet at the same time at the end of the group you think about what just happened and what you learned. The clinician Sam takes us on hikes on Saturdays and you don’t think he’s counseling you but as you’re walking on these hikes with him he gives you insight into what sobriety really
can look like he was an amazing guy to get to know. Amanda, my intake person she did backflips cartwheels and everything else you can imagine to get me in to Ritual Recovery. I give her 20 stars. I was in a state facility and it was terrible and she got me out of there as fast as she could less than a day you go, Amanda. The living situation, my Text, Ivy, and Amberly these two women care they pull you aside. They see when you’re depressed. They make sure you don’t isolate. They listen and they talk and they’re funny. They take us on trips on Sunday from pottery to sitting at the river to coffee shops, you name it we’ve done it even miniature golf there were days. I didn’t think I’d make it through, but if it wasn’t for these two ladies. telling me I got this I would’ve never finished the program. thank you, Ritual recovery for helping me on my next Chapter in life.

Ritual Recovery is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Ambetter, Cigna, Aetna, and Tricare. We also work with most major commercial insurance providers that offer out-of-network benefits, typically PPO plans, including providers like Medcost, Optum, and UnitedHealthcare (UHC), among others. Step One

30-day Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) - In House

Ritual Recovery implements a comprehensive continuum of care designed to support individuals on their journey to recovery. This program begins with an intensive 30-day Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), during which clients reside in our supportive housing environment. This phase focuses on structured therapy, group sessions, and personalized treatment plans aimed at fostering healing and growth.

Step Two

15 days of PHP

Following the initial month of in-house PHP, clients transition to 15 days of PHP while residing outside of our housing facility. This step allows individuals to integrate more fully into their daily lives while still receiving essential therapeutic support and guidance.

Step Three

3 Month Intensive Outpatient Program

After completing the PHP phases, participants continue their recovery journey with a three-month Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This phase emphasizes ongoing recovery skills, relapse prevention strategies, and the establishment of a supportive community as clients work towards lasting change and independence.
