Ritual Recovery is an outpatient treatment center in Asheville, NC. Although our programs are all conducted on an outpatient basis, they vary in intensity. Here’s a little bit about each of our levels of care and how they can support your recovery. No matter your care level, you’ll work with staff to make an individualized treatment plan that fits your needs.
Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers the most intensive care at Ritual Recovery. PHP clients at Ritual Recovery engage in 25 hours of groups per week, individual therapy, recreation, skill-building, and other activities. PHP is ideal for those who need comprehensive and structured treatment without the 24/7 supervision of an inpatient program. Most clients start with PHP and use a step-down approach to transition back into everyday life.
Our Asheville intensive outpatient program (IOP) at Ritual Recovery is one step down from PHP. Although many clients have treatment schedules similar to a PHP client when they’re in IOP, including various groups and other treatments, it has a lower overall time commitment. This allows clients more flexibility and time for external commitments. IOP can be a starting level of care or be used to help you transition out of PHP.
Our Asheville outpatient program is the least intensive treatment program at Ritual Recovery. This level of care is ideal for those with mild symptoms and provides the most flexibility. That way, you can tend to work, school, and other obligations while getting ongoing support tailored to your needs.
One of the many things that makes Ritual Recovery unique is our aftercare and alumni support options. We offer both virtual and in-person opportunities for alumni so that you can connect no matter where you live post-treatment, including:
Continuing to connect with your support system post-treatment can help you transition back into everyday life smoothly. Ritual Recovery is here to help you through every step of addiction recovery.

Prescription drug addiction, also known as prescription drug abuse, occurs when an individual uses prescription medication in a way other than as prescribed by a healthcare professional. Signs of prescription drug addiction can vary depending on the type of drug, but there are some common indicators to look out for. It’s important to note that the presence of one or more of these signs does not necessarily mean someone is addicted, but it may warrant further investigation or professional help. Here are some general signs:
If you suspect someone is struggling with prescription drug addiction, it’s crucial to encourage them to seek professional help. Treatment options may include therapy, counseling, support groups, and, in some cases, medication-assisted treatment. If you are concerned about yourself or someone else, reaching out to a healthcare professional or addiction specialist is an important first step.
We accept most commercial insurance plans that cover out-of-network benefits, typically PPO insurance plans to help cover many of the costs associated with treatment at Ritual Recovery. To find out your personal options for treatment, fill out our free online insurance verification form.
Ritual Recovery strives to make the admissions process simple and low-stress. We will help you coordinate your transition to and from addiction treatment smoothly so that you have the support you need every step of the way. You’re welcome to book a tour of our facilities in person to find out what makes Ritual Recovery special.
The first step of Ritual Recovery’s admission process is to connect with us and verify your insurance coverage for treatment. Ritual Recovery accepts most forms of health insurance. If you don’t have health insurance, we will discuss other payment options with you.
After that, we will give you an intake assessment to better understand your treatment needs. Then, you’ll get a treatment placement, and we’ll discuss things like what to bring to treatment and what to leave at home if you are staying in our supportive housing facilities.
As you prepare to exit treatment, we will help you create an aftercare plan, and you will get access to our alumni programming mentioned above. Treatment at Ritual Recovery is associated with positive outcomes such as decreased rates of depression, anxiety, and relapse.
We understand the importance of finding ways to have fun without substances while recovering from addiction. During treatment, you’ll have access to all of our on-site amenities and opportunities to build new skills or simply enjoy life.
On-site amenities at Ritual Recovery include but aren’t limited to the following:
We also provide clients with a wide range of activities and skill-building opportunities to choose from. Activities we offer include but aren’t limited to once-weekly cooking classes, hiking, fishing, escape rooms, rope courses, museums, movies, yoga and meditation, speaker meetings, and daily 12-step meetings.
Our experienced staff members use a wide range of evidence-based treatments to help you build a set of coping skills that work for you. Therapies and treatments offered at Ritual Recovery include but aren’t limited to the following:
Unless you request more, you will get one family therapy session in the first 30 days of PHP. Generally, when you first enter treatment, you should expect to attend four groups per day and individual therapy once weekly unless you request additional individual therapy sessions during the admissions process. Again, this will depend on your personalized treatment plan and level of care.
As an outpatient treatment center, we have a unique ability to work with your schedule and personal needs. Professionals, college students, and individuals with families often benefit from the flexible nature of our approach.
We have an LGBTQ group and gender-specific groups so that you can discuss what’s on your mind in a safe, comfortable space. You will get to work through real-life triggers and obstacles while in our programs, and our flexible technology policy lets you stay connected throughout treatment.
If you have any questions about treatment accommodations or what to expect, please don’t hesitate to give Ritual Recovery a call. Our admissions line is available 24/7, even outside of typical office hours.
